Elevate your equity work in this workshop series where you will deepen your equity literacy, cultivate bias awareness, and develop practical solutions that will have a real-world impact.

Four Workshop Sessions: Engage in four interactive and enriching workshop sessions, each lasting two hours, to delve deep into topics including equity literacy, powerful reflection practices, addressing bias in observations, and creating action plans for positive change.
Resource Toolkit: Access a curated set of resources (e.g. articles, frameworks, etc), handpicked to enrich your learning experience both during and beyond our workshop series.

Journal Prompts: Specially designed to stimulate reflection, strengthen your self-awareness, and boost your critical thinking skills.
Personalized Learning Exercises: Participate in tailored learning exercises carefully designed to resonate with your experiences and learning preferences.

Peer Support Network: Connect with like-minded peers in a supportive community, where you will share insights, brainstorm solutions, and learn.
Strategy Spotlight: To balance the long term work that is associated with developing your equity practices, we will “crowdsource” easy to use tools, tips, “hacks”, and strategies fellow learning specialists are using to make their day-to-day work easier.

DR ALYSON KANESHIRO

Alyson Kaneshiro, Ed.D, is the founder of Learning Specialist LLC and a learning specialist in Oakland, California.

With a varied background in education that spans 20 years, Alyson is passionate about designing equitable student support systems that center relationships and compassionate care.

She loves learning about the newest tech tools and gets excited about ways technology can bring creativity and innovation to her practice.

Beyond her work in schools and academia, she finds joy in practicing yoga, surfing Pacific waves on outrigger canoes, and embarking on pizza adventures in search of the “perfect” slice.
